Job Summary: This is an hourly adjunct teaching role. The adjunct will teach the institutional pharmacy course and coordinate curriculum with the program professor. The adjunct will set-up lab activities, monitor and assess students, and cleanup after lab activities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization2. Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators3. Provides appropriate and timely feedback to students for all assignments4. Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards5. Maintains student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades6. Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance7. Informs students of progress-to-date using guidelines published in Canva Pace Plans. Periodically assigns and submits grades by published deadlines8. Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment9. Prepares and submits incident reports to Associate Dean for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy10. Maintains professional and collegial behavior11. Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints, and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days)12. Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure13. Completes all required employee trainings14. Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines15. Provides ADA accommodations as requested

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued:

Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year of experience working in pharmacy environment, Utah License as a CPhT or Pharmacist

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in aseptic compounding, skill with operation of a compoundingimplements and equipment. Able to accurately measure calibration marks on syringes. Institutional pharmacy practices and responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Computer input, familiarity with pharmaceutical inventory products, ability to performbasic pharmaceutical calculations. Demonstrate strong customer relations skills. Ability to problem-solve and assist students by modeling professional behaviors.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, abilities, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

In accordance with Board of Regents policy, SLCCs Human Resources will conduct a criminal background check on instructors if concurrent enrollment (K-12) students are assigned to classes.
